About Us
SCANSTONE are leading designers and manufacturers of advanced soil preparation and root crop harvesting machinery. Based in Angus, Scotland, the company has been proudly family-run since its establishment in 2005.
The business was founded by Gordon Skea, who was previously one of the owners of Reekie Manufacturing, which was also based in Forfar. Today, SCANSTONE continues under the leadership of Gordon, his daughter and son-in-law Alison and Adam Patterson, and their general manager David Whitton, who has been with the company for over 15 years.
Both Alison and Adam studied BEng Agricultural Engineering at Harper Adams University in England and went on to gain international experience working with CLAAS in Germany, France, and the UK. Alison oversees the export side of the business, while also contributing to sales, finance, and general company operations. David Whitton is responsible for production and the smooth running of all factory operations. Adam leads Research & Development, assists with service management, and the commissioning of new manufacturing machinery within the factory.
